PRE-Placement Physical Examination:
These examinations are designed to protect both you and your employees. The
Americans with Disability Act forbids discrimination based on disabilities.
However, these examinations are designed to ensure that the new employees
are medically appropriate for the intended job placement. For example,
employees with communicable diseases should not be placed in a situation
where transmission is possible. Special accommodations may be necessary for
certain new employees, such as employees with back difficulties. OSHA's
drive for an Ergonomics Program Standard also places a strong emphasis on
appropriate job placement.
There are many different types of physical examinations, and our staff will
assist you with your selection of the appropriate examinations for each job
category. After an offer of employment is made to the employee, your
personnel office can give an instruction sheet to the employee. The sheet will
inform the employee when and where to go for the examination. Prime
Medical will use the same sheet as an "order sheet" and perform the
appropriate exams. No appointments are necessary, although better
arrangement of time may be available if the personnel office calls us before the
employee arrives for the exam. Upon your request, the reports are given to the
employee to bring back to your office, and/or they will be mailed to you.
